On the Road...to Mildura...

The road to Mildura (on the way to the quilt show a few weeks ago)...lots and lots of paddocks of canola in flower in the Wimmera and into the Mallee, acres of yellow spreading across the landscape...

Wooden sculpture in Rupanyup outside an historical store...it was after 12:00 on Saturday so all was very quiet in town and the store building is currently empty...unfortunately the painted silo is so faded with rust showing through so I didn't even stop to take a photo...such a shame the original ones are deteriorating

Sheeps Hills...been to this one before but it's just a wee veer to take the road around and back on to the highway...I don't think it is as bright as it was but it is still impressive...
Warracknabeal...roundabout sculptures...
Rosebery silo...another one showing wear sadly...
Patchewollock silo...the paint appears to be peeling on this one...
Walpeup...newly done this year...
Straight on to Mildura now...next stop Jo's house!

Happy Stitching...

The silos always blow me away. Sad to see them deteriorate. They are so amazing!

Nice art on your trip. I love a bit of rust and peely paint, lovely that new silos are being painted though. Had to look up canola but as I suspected it's what we call rape, sad as canola is a much nicer name. xx

Such a shame to hear the silos are deteriorating, they were expensive to get done, maybe there isn't the money for up keep ?
