Scaaared...

Terrifying...

Exciting...but...

Terrifying...

We've agreed to stare at each other for a while...

Watch This Space!...

Why?  Because there is a chance of two more A Gardener's Journal blocks by the end of the day...meaning I'll have caught up to the timetable in the Stitch-A-Long.

The tradies have finally packed up their tools, the fence is finished and so is the house stitchery.
Wahoo!!  Put the final stitches in the fence yesterday morning before work...June stitcheries tick!...
and...last night was the night for one of my quilting groups and after a couple of obsessive, "I WILL get this finished before I do anything else!" hours...the garden tools collection was completed...
add a tick for July stitcheries as well.

Hoping to get the two blocks together later today and add two more to the group tally by July's end and two more letters after my name! Yay!!!!
That is, right after I come back from a trip up the highway to collect my new sewing machine that I accidentally put on lay-by a few weeks ago when I took P-faff to be serviced and discovered that, apparently, P-faff needed a sibling...that was yesterday's plan until work intervened and put a crimp in my stitchy related plans.  Right, stop procrastinating and get on the road and up the highway...

Until next time...

Happy stitching...

Show Time!...

This weekend the Melbourne Stitches and Craft Show was on in Jeff's Shed and yesterday I set out to meet Mistea and spend the afternoon in crafty goodness.

I finally made it into Melbourne...you know how sometime the universe is telling you you shouldn't have got out of bed? Well, that was my yesterday morning so I didn't make it in as early as I would have liked...good thing being Saturday the show was open until 7:00pm

First off we did the shopping thing...

A combination of crossing items off the "wish list", project requirements and a small "just 'coz"...

A 14 1/2" square 'coz you can't have too many variations of ruler...pinking shears which I've wanted for ages, the pinking wheel on the rotary cutter isn't always right for every occassion...a pair of those gorgeous Scissaroo embroidery scissors...a set of jelly roll templates of varied shapes...bag batting for the two projects from the Inspired Stitches weekend...and a cute pattern for a purse just 'coz it was there and I liked it.

What? No fabric???  You're right...but I did get a fabric fix with this yummyness that Mistea kindly picked up for me when she went to Ink & Spindle's last open studio event...which I'd quite forgotten about but she remembered to bring with her yesterday...

Then, retail therapy taken care of we made our way into the VicQuilters display of quilty inspiration...
Images of nspiration from Jeff's Shed 2010
It always takes a good couple of hours to get around the quilts and absorb the inspiration.  Yep, good thing it was open until 7:00pm because we left at about, oh, 6:50pm!!!  They didn't quite have to kick us out but we certainly made the most of the time available.

By now it was time for tea and the tummies were a bit peckish so we wandered over to Southgate and had the most scrummy dinner at The Blue Train Cafe...after much deliberation because there were too many yummy choices we both settled on veal scallopine and citrus berry tarts which were to die for...definitely good choices. Delicious!!

Still plugging away on the A Gardener's Journal Stitch-A-Long getting that fence put up around the house...it certainly isn't a quick job but there is a week to go of July so if my neck stops playing silly buggers and let's me stitch for longer periods I might just get it done...I hate it when it's being able to work or stitching 'coz the being able to work bit always has to win.

Hope your weekend was a good one and you got some crafty goodness in there.

Happy Stitching...

And on Friday Night I Sewed...

One (almost - needs binding) and a half mini ponchette bags...

The one that is constructed refused to be a good bag and stand up straight to be photographed, it insisted on slouching...yes, they are for teenagers!  ha ha ha

I know that it is now Sunday here and part of the game is to blog on Saturday but I was out playing at a crafty event all day yesterday so I'm posting in Northern Hemisphere time.

Hope your Friday Night Sew-In was a productive one.

This little cutie is part of one of the projects by Jodie from Vintage Ric Rac.

Is it too early to book for next year???

July OPAM - Tick!

I know..it's only the 2nd but hey, I'm nothing if not inconsistent *LOL*
Ta dah!

The table runner I started back in February for my SIL's birthday in January is done, done, done...well, except I haven't given it a little bath yet.  It's not really the weather for washing quilty stuff, it would take an age to dry so that bit will wait until the weather is a bit more clement.  And the light is a bit crook for taking pics, so hard to get the colours to come out right.  Oh well, it is winter after all.

That's July's OPAM finish ticked off...now the focus Must be on getting A Gardener's Journal on track for the Stitch-A-Long.

And, since it is July that means that it is time for the Daylesford Craft Experience...Wahoo!!!...so looking forward to playing at this event tomorrow...it is going to be fun.  See ya there T and R :)

Enjoy your Friday.

Happy sewing...
