A Sunday Drive...

It's been a bit quiet on the sewing front in my world...pincushion swap has been received (thank you to my Dutch partner for a lovely pincushion) and sent (currently winging it's way across land and sea) but as there is a big reveal day coming up (and my partner hasn't received her parcel yet) no pics can be shared...yet!...stay tuned...There is a little bit of progress on my project for Chookyblue's SSCS 2010...but...that can't be shared until after 25 December...and another couple of hexagon diamonds for Bumb'le Bee but nothing great and wonderous worth a photo so...as there is nothing of mine to share...

Sunday I took a drive up to Castlemaine to meet up with Mistea and take in the creative stylings of the Goldfield Quilters...

Ooo...the sign says "Quilts"...must be the place to go...

The Best of Show and other winners of the various categories can be found over at the Goldfield Quilters blog.
After refueling at Safs (yum yum) and a stop at Threadbear to say hi to Corliss, pat Sam the dog and generally fondle fabric (only a small remnant and a reel of thread came home with me...how controlled was I!!!)...it was Jindi's turn for an outing and we went for a walk to take a turn around the Castlemaine Botanic Gardens where these cuties were enjoying the sunshine...

Back to working on my SSCS project...only a month to go to get it done and in the mail...

Back from Ballarat...

Back from Ballarat after a weekend of stitchy good times...good friends...laughs...eating...stitching...a great way to spend a cold raining weekend....here is what I worked on...

A bit of this and a bit of that...hand stitching on a number of in progress projects..ready for next steps...I didn't manage to unpack P-faff...she relaxed in her cart all weekend...

There was a finish...

No, not mine...GF J-J's lovely Fairfax Sampler by Virginia Enright...wahoo!  Well done J!!  I have this quilt in a state of UFO...and this is the one that inspired me to do the class...

Of course there was shopping...not even cold rainy weather can deter a visit to patchwork shops...

And then I came home to find squishy mail...

...a layer cake and charm packs ordered a couple of weeks ago...

And now it's back to reality...*sigh*...

Oops-See...

Hello...my name is Oops-see...and I've come to live at Jindi's Cottage and keep P-Bot company...

I'm really happy to be here...I bought this along with me...can you guess what it is?...

It's a bag for...

apple core templates!  How clever is that!!!

Thank you Mistea for my birthday Oops-see and the baggie...

There has been a little progress...the Cinderberry Stitches stitchery for the Inspired Stitches project...all stitched...cute hey?

And the Leanne's House stitchery from Immerse...almost there...

Away in Ballarat for the weekend with a group of friends having a lovely stitchy weekend...a great weekend to stay in and stitch as it is wet, wet, wet and a bit chilly to boot...

Books, Books, Books...

I know, I've been a bit quiet on the bloggy front the last couple of weeks...much non-sewing rubbish clogging up my head...there's been a bit of progress on the Leanne's House project from Immerse Yourself and a bit of progress on the Cinderberry Stitches project from Inspired Stitches but nothing of consequence...so here's some catch-up I prepared earlier...

Parcel guy came by and delivered books I'd ordered from The Book Depository and eBay...

"Quilting Makes the Quilt" by Lee Cleeland and "Applique 12 Easy Ways" by Elly Sienkiewicz., great technique/reference books...both second hand finds on eBay and both in absolutely perfect condition...seriously, I've seen "new" books in shops that were more "used"...my first and second eBay purchases EVER, both from the same Vendor in Alabama, USA...and "It's Quilting Cats & Dogs" by Lynette Anderson which I immediately coveted once seen on an overseas friend's blog...it's got dogs how could I not want it...and again, not disappointed...fantastic quality both in content and quality...my expectations were definitely exceeded...gotta love books *VBG*

And these to keep me on track next year...

I couldn't decide which size I wanted so I went with both, one for the desk and one for the bag...gorgeous eye candy...I was hoping that maybe the pictures might be different in each one but no, they are the same...no mind, they are wonderful and I can pretend I was at the V&A when the Textiles Exhibition was open...unlike when I was actually there and that section was closed!...

The first quilty happening is already in...Summer School 2011 in January...wahoo! we are excited already...
