And We Sewjourn-ed...

In amongst the recent chaos was the bright spot of a weekend away with stitchy friends...to Sewjourn in Lancefield...organised months ago and so looked forward to...a weekend of frivolity, yummy dinners out and lots of stitching...for me it turned into a Claytons weekend away, it was just too much for my head spinning brain to handle, getting back Thursday night and re-packing clothes/linen and organising Jindi again so I opted to come home Friday & Saturday night to feed Jindi and sleep (it's the next town so only about a 15 minute drive)...good thing too as it meant that when I forgot something I was able to take it back with me the next day...and what did I forget Friday morning??? Well, um, the one machine project I intended to do all weekend...

Yep, took P-faff and left the project in its basket sitting on the cutting table...arggh...so instead I spent Friday hand stitching and finished appliqueing the outer border on Anna...
There are hexies and stars to be appliqued on the border...most of that preparation is already done so definitely on the downhill now...

So Saturday was P-faff day....stitching the blocks for a quilt-as-you-go project, Kalamazoo. I finished quilting each block, it took ages and I really had to keep reminding myself that it would go quickly once I'd got through that...all the quilting lines stitched and the short seams managed ready for trimming but I'd had enough so it came home to be finished...hasn't happened yet...
Got to say I have such clever friends...see this quilt top...this is G's first quilt, yes first, and on top of that...it is entirely hand pieced right down to us teaching her how to do mitred corners! which she did beautifully...
She started cutting out her next...in Kaffe fabrics, it is going to be spectacular...and we introduced her to French General after she saw my Anna and she already had ideas about that! Go G!!!

J went on a bag mission...
One down....a great job...had so much fun making that one she moved on to...
bag number two for the weekend...
Check out those zippered pockets...clever girl!

K finished up a quilt top - a Bonnie Hunter so not exactly quick and easy!...but I didn't get a photo, it is so huge the wall wasn't really big enough!! and on Sunday I started making a version of the first bag Jean made, still in progress...

A great weekend was had by all and next year's is already been booked and looked forward to...when there will be five as A wasn't able to make it at the last minute, you were so missed, looking forward to spending time with you soon...I have the best time with these ladies...

Happy Stitching...

April SAL Blocks....

It's been a bit of a frantic few weeks due to a change in the day-to-day stuff which includes for some of the time a shift in geography, and I completely forgot I'd put my April Stitch-a-Long blocks on the SAL blog but not here...

So while I'm home with a proper sized IT system and ADSL...here they are...
The colours are seriously not quite right as I took the photo on a morning while the sun was still asleep before I took off to work away for the week, but it was a photo shoot in dodgy light or not at all...

May has been started...not progressing along very quickly but definitely started, all the prep is done and a few blocks appliqued, it's a start...the only project that travelled with me this week and I didn't manage to get much done but every stitch is a stitch towards the finish line!

Happy Stitching...
